FOIE GRAS BAN VICTORY IN PITTSBURGH

On December 18, 2023 under the leadership and initiative of APA member Humane Action Pittsburgh (HAP), the Pittsburgh City Council passed their foie gras ban by a 7-2 vote. APA supported this effort by providing legislative research, analysis, and drafting assistance, as well as grant funding to cover staff time. HAP also received valuable guidance from fellow APA member Voters For Animal Rights (VFAR), who played a pivotal role in securing the foie gras ban in New York City. Their advice, information, and lobbying resources from their successful campaign proved invaluable in achieving this milestone.
